When couple Jim and Debbie retired about 2 years ago they knew it was time to get their Blue Bird school bus up and ready for full-time travel.

Fast forward to today and their mobile tiny house is named Joy and provides the couple with a comfortable tiny home to travel. The couple together for 48 years, decided two years ago to downsize, and travel in their converted school bus. The exterior of the converted school bus is painted white, and it has some painted mountains and trees along the side.

There are solar panels on the roof which help to provide power for the bus and life on the road. Underneath there is plenty of under storage for all sorts of things to keep any clutter out of the bus, an added bonus so they didn't have to worry so much about storage. When you walk into the converted school bus you will see the drivers seat, and up above that, you'll find some storage, a well-insulated compartment is a place where they keep their camera gear. The converted Blue Bird bus is surprisingly quiet for its size, making it perfect for traveling as they can have normal conversations without having to worry about the noise.

The couple decided to raise the roof on their Blue Bird bus, which further adds to the spacious feel of the bus, there is also a skylight to let in natural light.

To cover the skylight on days that they don't want to have so much light in the bus they have a cover for the skylight. They have a living area with a good-sized flat-screened television and a full-sized couch. The converted school bus has a mini-split air conditioner to keep it cool in the warmer months. The mini air conditioner is very energy efficient and has a soft start which doesn't pull a lot of electricity. The bus is on solar and is off-grid. They have 12 batteries. There is good lighting in the bus they have LED pocket lights in the ceiling.

The couple has a good-sized desk where they can work on the computer.

They have a standard poodle which is easy to train on the bus, and they don't shed which is important in a tiny house on wheels. The kitchen appliances are full-sized to include a fridge, stove, and microwave. The oven isn't used in the summer months as it gets too warm. Their bathroom sink is made out of a metal bowl with a hole drilled on the bottom. The bus has a washer and dryer combination, which can be used when the bus has a lot of energy stored. Sunny days are perfect for hanging laundry and conserving energy. They also have a small flat-screen television in their bedroom, perfect for when they want to watch different things or cozy nights.
